Will You Need a Camping or Hiking Water Filter?

It is definitely a must to have a hiking water filter along on any hiking excursion where you are going to be gone for any significant time.

Although a sparkling stream or lake may look beautiful, it is definitely not advised to drink the water from it without first purifying it.

This is because natural bodies of water will contain harmful microorganisms, which can cause disease or illness, and this is not going to be what you want to have happen when you are on a hiking or camping trip!

One product that generally gets great reviews is the Katadyn Pocket Water Microfilter. This item may be a bit spendier than some others, but it is the only one of its kind that I know of that comes with a 20 year warranty!
