What's the Cost to Build a Website?
The cost to build a website can vary...a webmaster can charge several thousands of dollars, depending on how much work is involved (how many pages you need and how much information has to be put on the site). In addition to the initial cost to build a website, another problem with hiring a web professional is that anytime you have to make changes to the site, you may have to pay additional fees because you will have no idea how to make the changes yourself. There is also another serious concern that most people do not think about when they hire someone...this person is usually paid to build a site, not to get traffic to it! Many business owners think that if they simply get a web presence going, this will bring them customers - wrong! You can have the best-looking site ever, but if nobody is finding what you have to offer online, you will not make money! And in the long run, this can cost you a whole lot more than just lost revenue; it can cost you a whole lot of time wasted...
There are a lot of services that allow people to build free websites; be warned, however...you will get what you pay for. If all you want is a basic site that you can refer others to (by handing out business cards, mailing postcards, putting up fliers, doing paid advertising, and other methods that are going to cost you time and/or money),that is what you will get with these free or cheap services. If, however, you want a site that attracts visitors to it naturally so you can
ever-increasingly build website traffic,
you will want to partner with a company that can deliver these types of results.
As you can see, if you base your choice only on the initial cost to build a website and you choose a poor-quality company to partner with (one that isn't going to get any visitors to your site and allow you to make money), the cost of that website may be huge in the long run, due to loss of time and revenue you will have missed out on had you done it right in the first place.
