North Carolina Camping

A North Carolina camping trip will allow you to experience absolutely beautiful hills, ancient mountains, river valleys, lakes, and forests. There are over 40 state parks, so you'll have a great choice of places to stay.

In addition to state parks, a very popular vacation destination is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which is located in this state, and also in Tennessee. The Smokies are some of the oldest mountains in the world, perhaps dating back 200 to 300 million years. Best of all, these mountains have been relatively undisturbed in many areas, and a lot of work goes into ensuring that they remain that way.

As for hiking trails in this area, there will be no shortage of interesting places to explore Between the fairly moderate climate most of the year and the gorgeous scenery...if you are an outdoor lover, I think you'll be impressed by what you find in this state.
